The Story Behind MONARCH

Sometimes the best ideas don't come from a business plan. They come from an ordinary moment at home.

Ours started on a cold winter afternoon in January 2026.

My wife, Maggie, looked at me and said she was craving a Rice Krispie treat.

I laughed.

"Why would you want a Rice Krispie treat?"

To me, they were ordinary. Just cereal and marshmallows. I never understood why people loved them so much.

She smiled and simply replied,

"They're my favorite."

After nearly twenty years together, I couldn't believe I was just learning this. It reminded me of the time she casually mentioned that Great Danes had always been her favorite dogs years after we were married. Naturally, we ended up with a Great Dane. Apparently, I'm a slow learner.

So I made her a promise.

"I'll make you Rice Krispie treats... but I'm going to do it my way."

Not the recipe from the back of the cereal box.

I wanted to create something that felt worthy of a chef like Gordon Ramsay. Something made with premium ingredients, refined techniques, and an attention to detail that would transform a familiar childhood favorite into something extraordinary.

For months, our kitchen became a test kitchen.

One batch became two.

Two became ten.

Ten became dozens.

Every recipe taught me something.

Different chocolates.

Different techniques.

Different textures.

Every small adjustment brought me one step closer to the recipe I had been searching for.

Friends wanted more.

Neighbors asked if they could buy them.

Local businesses started placing orders.

What began as one homemade dessert for my wife slowly grew into something much bigger.

That's how MONARCH was born.

Today, every MONARCH Rice Crispy is still handcrafted in small batches in Island Lake, Illinois, using premium ingredients and the same passion that started everything on that winter afternoon.
